The coin’s reverse features a stylised representation of the commemorative florin issued in 1954 to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s first visit to Australia. It showcases a lion and a kangaroo standing side by side, a powerful symbol of the enduring bond between the United Kingdom and Australia. Both the lion and kangaroo, as well as the coin’s outer rim are gilded in 24-carat gold. Surrounding the design is the inscription “H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II 100th ANNIVERSARY”, accompanied by stylised dots, the 2026 yeardate, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The coin’s obverse depicts the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, along with the coin’s weight, fineness and monetary denomination.
