This silver coloured coin celebrates the dragon, a well-recognised symbol of Chinese culture believed to bring good luck. It is also considered to be a symbol of power, strength, wealth, and good fortune.

The reverse of the coin features a dragon draped around a red lantern with a celebratory red banner running down the length of the coin depicting the Chinese characters for ‘Happy New Year’.  The design also features The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
